This week I tried a new technique for creating ATCs: metal foil and acrylics.
In the picture you'll see the two ATCs (scanned), and I took a photo so you can get an idea of the shininess of these ATCs.
A few weeks ago I showed my first animal portrait in oil - the robin.
I liked working with oil so much that I treated myself with a wider palette of colors. And I painted this portrait of Figo.
Figo is a resident of 'Kattentehuis Vergeet-Me-Nietje' (Catshelter Forget-Me-Not) - a shelter for cats that cannot be (re)placed for what ever reason. I am gonna donate this painting for an online auction for another catshelter - a shelter for kittens. All revenues will be for this catshelter. The online auction will start on World Animal Day (4th October).
During a long drive back home, I thought passing time would go more pleasant sketching. But what to sketch when everything outside the car is moving fast... So sketches of the hands of my husband - driving the car. Lovely model :)
Last saturday we went to the zoo, to catch up and to sketch! Too bad the tiger twins didn't show themselves, but all the other animals were lovely models. Here some sketches, and at the end some photos I took.
Two weekends ago I participated in (another) photoshoot. This time the models were dogs, three of them were pups. The weather was beautiful and the models (and their owners) were wonderful. Here a (very) small selection of the photos I took.
If you want to see all of them, sit back and watch the slide show (contains 85 photos):
In our garden, some poppies are growing. I know I should consider them as weed and remove them, but I like them so much. I had to paint them. Again an ATC, but this time I tried to add as much detail in it as possible. I even used a magnifying glass.
